Graduate Seminar: Sex and Intimacy - From Predicament to Possibility
Attraction, chemistry, desire—what is it that makes up the magic and intimacy we share with another?
Intimacy is the essence of love and friendship—a closeness made up of sharing and understanding—of knowing another person and being known. When sex and intimacy have no “shoulds” and “shouldn'ts,” when we allow ourselves to let go of our inhibitions, of our considerations—when we are not afraid of being vulnerable, off guard, or not in control—something becomes available. We are vibrant, alive, and we experience a freedom to be.
The capacity for intimacy requires a certain confidence and trust of others. In this seminar you will see sex and intimacy as a means of expressing the privilege of being with and giving yourself to another, and having that gift fully received.
