Getting More Responses
If you're not getting many responses from other members, here are a few suggestions for sprucing up your profile:
• Post a photo in your profile. Make sure your face is visible. People respond to people they can see.
• Make your essays more descriptive. It's all in the details. Instead of vague adjectives
(nice, smart, funny, successful, attractive), give specific examples of the things that make
you interesting. Take a look at our About Me Tips for ideas.
You can also make your introductory messages more intriguing. Although “Hey, you look cute, check out my profile,” may sound short and sweet, in fact, it really is a canned intro that is easily dismissed. When contacting other members, remember to ask yourself, “Why am I writing to this person?” and then tell him/her. Writing about things you have in common and things you might have in common will help.
