How does Landmark screen or review profiles? Landmark reviews profiles to eliminate obviously inappropriate or offensive materials as described in the LandmarkDating Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. This may take as much as 2 business days. During this time, if you visit the “Manage Your Profile”page, the status of your profile will be listed as “pending.”

What are the profile guidelines?
LandmarkDating welcomes profiles from all LandmarkDating members. We do not accept profiles that contain any of the following:
• Any direct contact information (e.g., email addresses, URLs, ICQ/instant messenger IDs, phone numbers, full names, addresses)
• Any location or descriptive information that threatens a participant’s anonymity
• Abusive or threatening language of any kind (i.e., vulgarity, racism, etc.)
• Discussion or descriptions of illegal acts or behavior (e.g., drug use, violence, etc.)
• Promotions or solicitations for any commercial, non-profit, charitable, or other interests you may have whether they are your own or on behalf of any person, group, organization, or entity
• Material that exploits or solicits personal information from individuals under the age of 18
• Languages other than English (this enables us to monitor profiles effectively)
• Solicitation of multiple or additional partners
• Unauthorized use of copyrighted or trademarked material
• Overt sexual innuendo or discussion

We do not accept profiles from:
• Incarcerated people
• People under the age of 18

How do I contact someone?
If you’d like to initiate contact, you need to be a member of LandmarkDating. Once you’ve joined, you can send a message to a person’s or company’s LandmarkDating inbox. To send a message to a member, you need to know that member’s username, which you can obtain from their profile/posting; or you can send a message directly from that user’s profile page.

I received a message from a LandmarkDating member. Do I have to become a member in order to reply?

Yes, you need to be a member of LandmarkDating to reply to a message. Once you’ve joined, you can send a message to a member’s LandmarkDating inbox.

Why can't I send a message?
The most likely reason you will get an error message while contacting LandmarkDating members is that you need to be a member; you also need to login. After you become a member of LandmarkDating, you will need to login each time you visit. While you are logged in, you can contact others.

How can I decline contact?
To decline contact, click on the “Decline” button in the message sent to you. While your message will be anonymous, please be thoughtful. People appreciate a reply, even if you’re declining.

How do I create a profile/posting?
Creating a profile is FREE and you can do it in about 15 minutes. Simply answer the questions – many are optional. You can give as much detail as you like, but you can not include contact information or web addresses. Because people can only contact you through your LandmarkDating inbox, your anonymity is protected.

How do I view my own profile
To see your profile, click Manage Your Profile, find the profile you want to view, then click on “view” in that profile’s “Actions” pulldown.

Why is only a portion of my profile active on the site?
When you create a profile, portions of your profile may be active in the search results immediately. Other portions may be subject to review, and that may take up to 2 business days. Each time you update your profile, your profile may be newly reviewed which may take up to 2 business days again. During the 2 business days, if you visit the Manage Your Profile page, the status of your profile will be listed as “pending.”

How do I update my profile?
To update your profile/posting, click Manage Your Profile, find the profile you want to view, then click on “edit” in that profile’s “Actions” pulldown. Your edits may be reviewed by LandmarkDating before they are posted. This can take up to 2 business days. During this time, the status of your profile will be listed as “pending.” Additionally, some fields (such as essays and photos) may be hidden, and other people will not be able to see them. Any edits to your profile must follow the LandmarkDating Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Why is it so important for me to provide complete information profile?

Your profile gives people their first impression. The more information you provide, the more likely you are to be contacted. In profiles that offer the option to post a photo, for example, including your photo will greatly improve the response. You might also want to see: Dating Profile Tips

Where does my profile show up?
Your profile will show up in search results pages when someone searches for criteria that match the details you’ve included in your profile. People can access your profile directly if they know your username or if you have sent them a message.

How do I hide my profile?
If you don’t want your profile to show up in search results, you can hide it – simply login to the site, go to Manage Your Profile, and change the “Status” from “active” to “inactive.” If you want to delete your profile permanently, please send an email with “REMOVE” in the subject line and both your username and the title of the profile you want removed in the body of your email to: dating@landmarkeducation.net

How do I reactivate my profile once I've hidden it?
Login to the site, go to Manage Your Profile, and change the “Status” from “inactive” to “active.”

How confidential is my profile?
Your personal information (name, contact information, and password) is kept completely confidential. Participants can only see the username and profile information you provide. For further details, read our LandmarkDating Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

If I end my membership, can I reactivate my profile if I rejoin later?
Yes. When you end your membership, your profile will automatically be hidden, and others will no longer be able to see it; however, if you choose to become a member again in the future, you can reactivate your profile.

What happened to the information that I was in the middle of writing?
Make sure you complete each page of your profile within 45 minutes and click “Save and Continue.” For security reasons, if you leave your computer or spend more than 45 minutes composing information on any profile page, you will be automatically logged out. Unfortunately, if this happens, the information you’ve entered will not have been saved. Where questions offer the opportunity for more detailed answers, you may want to compose your information into a word processing program, log into your profile, and cut-and-paste into the appropriate boxes.
