Our Growing Family of Landmark Forum Graduates
My children and son-in-law actually did The Landmark Forum before I did. In my arrogance of having done a lot of transformational work, I held back and let them do it first. I wanted to see how different or better this Landmark course could be from what I'd already done. On seeing the benefits my three children got, I registered. Since then, it's been non-stop for us and for our growing family of Landmark Forum graduates. To date, I don't know our numbers, but last fall we counted 70 graduates who are friends, family, and extended family.
When I first heard rumblings of a Landmark Forum taking place in Manila, Philippines, it excited me because even though I am an American, my family roots are in the Philippines. I've always felt that I have one foot here in the U.S. and one foot there. I have wonderful childhood memories of my time spent there. Back then, my hometown was small enough that we had picnics and parties and everyone in town would show up.
Elrik Jundis, my oldest son, was the first one in our family to become involved with the group, Mabuhay2020, that was causing The Landmark Forum in Manila, Philippines. Typical of him, he quickly took on leadership accountabilities with them. Little by little, he got the rest of us involved. My husband, Dennis Chan, and I flew to the Philippines with the intention of meeting the Manila Team of Mabuhay2020. Getting together with the group and seeing what they were creating, my participation soared to a new level. I returned to the United States as a moving force for the San Francisco Team of Mabuhay2020. Elrik and I enrolled our family and our Filipino-American Landmark graduate community into taking it on with us. After a while, it became clear we needed a point person in Manila and that Elrik was the one. Our family chose to support him financially and in other ways. He departed for the Philippines and the first Landmark Forum in the Philippines successfully took place with 118 participants. There was tremendous sharing and wonderful breakthroughs, and on the last evening of the course, even with a city-wide power outage, 160 guests came to find out about Landmark.
It's been an amazing experience and very gratifying to participate as a family, as extended family, and as community, with the primary theme being one of people making a difference. And the work continues. Thank you, Landmark!
