With All My Heart
My name is Emma Rosa Ramirez Valle, but everybody calls me Mamis. I'm the general manager here at the Landmark office in Mexico City - in the hot seat. I have the honor of representing everybody here - the people who do the administration, the people who participate in the assisting program, and all the wonderful people who come to find out about Landmark and what it has to offer.
I took The Landmark Forum many years ago. Eli Valdez, an associate in Los Angeles who also leads Landmark seminars there, is very committed that Landmark's work be available in Latin America, Spain, and the entire Spanish-speaking world. Eli introduced me to Fernando Botero at the evening session. Fernando had made an arrangement with Landmark headquarters in San Francisco that he would be responsible for heading up the operations in Mexico and Fernando told me I was exactly what he was looking for to support in these efforts. I was delighted and told him that I would be there with all my heart. So here I am. It's so great to be interacting daily with people who take The Landmark Forum and every day introducing it to new people.
We have a kind of makeshift operation here. We've got a temporary office and phones and lots of paper, but the people that I work with every day are remarkable. Sometimes there's not even room for us to walk around each other. But for example, when Ruy Castelan, a Landmark Forum leader, or Jorge Plasencia, a Landmark seminar leader, call us and give us training or coaching over the telephone, we know that we have everything available to us that all the other centers around the world have. We're having a ball here and Landmark is really growing in Mexico. I'm a trained seminar leader and I co-lead seminars with Fernando. I'm now also training others here to take on leadership roles.
In addition to being very satisfied with my professional life as a graphic designer, I am also unbelievably happy in my personal life. I am married to Octavio Romero and I am a stepmother to his two children, Gerardo and Ana Laura. I adopted them when I married Octavio many years ago. The children are now grown and although many years ago our relationship was not easy, now my relationship with both of them is extraordinary. I attribute this in large degree to The Landmark Forum. I have a very special and happy relationship with my husband - authenticity is our base line - our love is growing and we expand each other's lives. Gerardo is now participating in the assisting program and I'm a very proud stepmother and wife.
My commitment is to maintain Landmark's work in Mexico in such a way that everybody is fully satisfied with their experience of Landmark and is fulfilled in their own lives. I want to acknowledge the participants and graduates for making this work possible in Mexico.
