Our Life Changing Experience
The Probe
Ann Drew, June 2001
In this month’s leader article, ANN DREW, of Caesy UK gives us an insight into a course that was literally life changing...
IF YOU really think you’ve attended the best of the best when it comes to good courses, read on!
The course to pre-empt any others, (and there are some great ones out there), has to be The Landmark Forum. In fact it is more a life changing event than a course; three of the most valuable days I have ever spent. There really is no point in going on any other courses until you have been on this one.
It’s a course for everyone – and with 180 attendees there was certainly a diverse collection of people. Some got up to be coached and others simply sat quietly at the back to be coached anonymously – the results were the same for everyone.
My daughter, who invited me to an introductory meeting, introduced me to The Landmark Forum. Just seeing the difference in her after attending made me feel curious, and when I heard others sharing what they had achieved in only three days, I was hooked and signed up for the next available course.
On completion of my weekend I invited my life and business partner, Tony Glass, to an introductory evening. He is a national speaker on dental patients’ needs and, as anyone who has seen him talk will know, needs no motivation. His original response was: “looks great, glad you went on it but it’s not for me.” Four days later and he’d signed up! When I asked him why, he said: “You have demonstrated the product so well and opened up such new possibilities for yourself, our relationship and the business, I am fascinated to see how.”
Well, he is recently back from his course and busy telling anyone and everyone who will listen, including my dentist, all about it. With my son completing his course this weekend we are now a Landmark Forum family! I am seriously considering taking our employees, too.
You must be wondering exactly what it is. It’s hard to describe – unlike anything you have ever done before. Being involved in dentistry it’s clear to see this is the age of breakthroughs, amazing leaps in science, in technology and in understanding we have vastly elevated our quality of life. The Landmark Forum is such a breakthrough – a breakthrough in what is possible for people.
Maybe the best way to explain this experience is to share my homework (oh yes, there’s homework too), where we were interviewed about Landmark Forum.
You arrive on a Friday morning. There’s no porter, but everyone has lots of baggage.
You don’t play a game, but you’re in the game. The game starts with all players in the stands and ends when all players are on the court. Everyone arrives with plenty of rackets and no balls, everyone leaves with balls and no rackets! If you are still winning you’re losing out, and if you’re losing it means you’re winning!
What can you achieve?
At The Landmark Forum anything is possible, whilst being impossible, but nothing is really impossible. Everything is unreasonable, even a reason is unreasonable. The hours are unreasonably long and the breaks unreasonably short!
You spend some time painting a self-portrait and you end up with a blank canvas. You queue for refreshments but have absolutely no time to eat or drink!
You see anger, hurt, pain, misery, and despair. You also see hope, courage, effort, determination, and love. You’re on a roller coaster but you can’t coast – you have to roll.
How do you feel?
You would never have wanted to miss the experience or opportunity but you know you won’t have to go through the pain barrier again. You can’t wait to share it and get others to enroll. What would you say to someone considering Landmark Forum? Well, to complete is not the end but a new beginning. You leave your past behind and bring your future to the present. You want to tell the whole world about it, it drives you crazy!
If this doesn’t make sense it will if you go along. The Landmark Forum truly empowers you to realise your full potential beyond any expectations.
